Titel und Beschreibung Englisch Circular economy. For the successful implementation of a circular economy in the construction sector, the foundations for a comprehensive white paper concept were developed. Based on interviews with relevant stakeholders, the most important drivers and hurdles were identified and good practice examples were collected. A central element is integral planning, which sets the course for later deconstructability with the choice of building materials. A comprehensive life cycle assessment, certification systems and Building Information Modelling support the decision-making process. Resource conservation can be achieved by extending the service life and converting existing buildings as well as through efficient material flow management. The challenge is to create suitable conditions to accelerate implementation in practice.
