Objective data.gv.at

In the interest of national visibility and transparency, data.gv.at, as a central “Austria” catalog, is to record the metadata of the decentralized data catalogs of the administration in Austria and keep them retrievable.

An essential basis for data.gv.at is the data.gv.at cooperation agreement between the federal government, cities, states and municipalities – with the stipulation to plan, implement, operate and further develop a joint portal.

data.gv.at is operated with a metadata catalog based on OGD Metadata Austria.

data.gv.at is the “single point of contact” to the European Data Portal.

The datasets provided on data.gv.at include both Open Government Information (OGD) and information according to the PSI Directive on the re-use of public sector information (IWG).

Open Government Data (OGD) is non-personal information collected, created or paid for by public bodies and made available to the general public voluntarily and free of charge.

Public sector information (PSI) are documents of public sector bodies provided under PSI Directive 2003/98 EC or amendment 2013/37 EU. Public sector bodies may allow re-use without conditions or, where appropriate under a license, impose conditions on re-use. You must submit a request to the entity in possession of the desired data. The provision can be free of charge, but in justified cases also against payment (costs caused for reproduction, provision and further distribution). Further information
