Resource title and description in English Construction and demolition waste in Lower Austria. Generation and treatment, reference year 2021. At around 2.9 million tonnes, mineral construction and demolition waste was one of the most important waste streams in Lower Austria in 2021. In addition, around 1.3 million tonnes came from other federal states and around 6,000 tonnes were imported to Lower Austria for further treatment. By processing this waste into recycled building materials, energy and emissions are saved. The report comprehensively describes the type and quantity of waste and analyses the treatment routes of the individual waste streams in detail. The results of a survey of plant operators on the qualitative aspects of mineral construction and demolition waste, treatment plants and recycled building materials are also presented.
