Resource title and description in English Biodiversity indicators. The implementation of the Austrian Biodiversity Strategy 2030+ is regularly evaluated. The report includes the biodiversity indicators, which are used to examine the status and trends of habitat diversity, species diversity and genetic diversity as well as the causes of threats and measures. From the approximately 100 indicators of the Austrian Biodiversity Strategy 2030+, those that are best suited to illustrate progress in the implementation of the strategy were selected. These were selected on the basis of seven suitability criteria: Relation to biodiversity, informative value for measuring target achievement (Biodiversity Strategy 2030+), data availability, baseline values, opportunity for citizen science, international consistency and cost. Following a technical exchange with stakeholders, 43 biodiversity indicators were selected, including 22 headline indicators and 21 supplementary indicators.
