Resource title and description in English Development of significant waste streams in the context of the energy transition. In this study, key material and waste streams from the building sector were identified for which significant changes in volume and challenges for waste management are to be expected by 2050. Insulation materials and plasterboard were analysed in more detail under the framework conditions of the energy transition. Scenarios were developed for the quantified waste streams with regard to the quantitative development of their waste generation. In addition, a qualitative overview of current and future treatment options within and outside Austria was created for these waste streams.
