Resource title and description in English Forests in protected areas. The central focus of the Ministerial Conference on the Protection of Forests in Europe (MCPFE) is the development of guidelines, criteria, and indicators for sustainable forest management. One of the indicators for forest biodiversity is the size of protected forest areas designated for biodiversity conservation. Austria is required to collect and submit data on this indicator every five years. This report forms the basis for the 2023 surveys and describes the changes from previous reporting periods.
