Resource title and description in English Annual Report of Air Quality Measurements in Austria 2019. The annual report documents the results of the air quality measurements of the federal states and the Federal Environment Agency for 2019. The measurement results show: The IG-L limit value for the annual mean value for nitrogen dioxide was exceeded at 19 measuring points in seven federal provinces. Diesel vehicles are the main polluters, and limit value exceedances occur at locations with heavy traffic. For benzo(a)pyrene, sulphur dioxide and dust precipitation (incl. lead), isolated exceedances of the limit values according to IG-L were measured. The target values for ozone were exceeded in most of Austria. The IG-L limit and target values for particulate matter (PM10), carbon monoxide, PM2.5, heavy metals and benzene were met throughout Austria in 2019.
